The oboist Jared Hauser has performed internationally as soloist and chamber musician. Appointed in 2008 to the faculty of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where he performs with the Blair Woodwind Quintet, he previously served as principal oboist of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and as artist faculty at the Lynn Conservatory of Music. Hauser has appeared as soloist with such diverse groups as the Bournemouth Symphonette, Bella Baroque, Music City Baroque, the Hot Springs Music Festival Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Northern New York among others.
His other orchestral credits include appearances as guest principal with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra Camerata Ducale (Turin, Italy); as well as performing with the Nashville Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, and the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra. Hauser’s solo and chamber performances have been broadcast on NPR’s “Performance Today”, CBC/Radio Canada and BBC Radio 3. Each summer he performs and instructs at the Hot Springs Music Festival in Arkansas, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory, Rice University and University of Michigan, where his principal teachers were James Caldwell, Alex Klein, Robert Atherholt, Dan Stolper, and Harry Sargous.
